Refund Policy
Student Housing Abroad LLC is a placement service that connects study abroad students with verified housing providers. We are not the property owner or landlord. When a student proceeds with a housing reservation, they are entering into a legally binding lease agreement with both the landlord and Student Housing Abroad LLC.
Booking Fee & Lease Agreement Policy
A Booking Fee is required to reserve your housing and initiate your Placement Agreement. This Booking Fee covers administrative support, housing verification, and placement services.
All Booking Fees are non-refundable. Once the Booking Fee is paid and the lease agreement is signed, cancellations are not permitted. The student is fully responsible for ensuring that all booking requirements are met before proceeding.
Because your lease is a binding agreement with both the landlord and Student Housing Abroad LLC, we are unable to reverse or cancel contracts after they have been executed. Housing availability is limited, and last-minute cancellations negatively affect both landlords and other students.
Extenuating Circumstances
In rare cases, documented extenuating circumstances may be considered for refund review. Qualifying scenarios include:
- University program cancellation or postponement
- Government-imposed travel bans
- Global pandemic-related restrictions
- Documented medical emergency preventing international travel
Requests must be submitted in writing to sales@studenthousingabroad.com and include:
- Full name
- Lease or unit location
- Date of booking and payment
- Supporting documentation (e.g., medical letter, cancellation notice)
Student Housing Abroad LLC will review each request on a case-by-case basis. Submission of a request does not guarantee approval.
Student Misconduct and Termination
Student Housing Abroad LLC and/or the landlord reserve the right to cancel a booking or terminate a lease without refund in the event of:
- Illegal activity or serious policy violations
- Harassment, violence, or disruptive conduct
- Damage to property or willful misuse of accommodations
This policy is enforced to protect other tenants, staff, and landlords.
International Use & Compliance
Students are responsible for ensuring compliance with local laws, visa requirements, housing rules, and university expectations in their destination country. Student Housing Abroad LLC is not responsible for any failure to comply with host-country legal requirements.
Third-Party Services Disclaimer
Our services may integrate third-party tools (e.g., payment processors, Discord, scheduling systems). Student Housing Abroad LLC is not liable for service interruptions, accessibility issues, or data use policies managed by those third parties.
Dispute Resolution & Jurisdiction
In the event of a dispute, you agree to first attempt resolution through our support team. If unresolved, you agree to binding arbitration under the laws of the State of Wyoming, and waive the right to bring disputes in any other forum, unless required by law.
All disputes shall be governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming and resolved exclusively in Cheyenne, WY.
