I studied in Madrid during the Spring of 2023 and I had the time of my life. Madrid is a great city for study abroad or exchange programs because it has a great blend of history, culture, and a unique nightlife. I booked my apartment through a company called SpotaHome and was definitely unhappy with my living situation. I was asked to send a bank transfer within a week of registering for the apartment with little to no connection with a landlord and every payment following had to be in cash. Unfortunately, Spotahome never included any of these details. I wish was more informed of what my experience would be like and what to expect before arrival. Therefore, I really wish I had StudentHousingEU. StudentHousingEU’s community and verified housing would have been a great resource for me.
